Big Mountain Fun... Small Mountain Attitude!
Located in the heart of the Central Adirondacks, Old Forge, NY
McCauley Mountain offers a unique ski experience where it's not about the size of the mountain—it's about the amount of fun packed into it! With a 633-foot vertical drop, McCauley delivers all the thrills of larger ski areas, featuring everything from wide, cruisy runs to steep bumps, glades, and challenging double-black diamonds. Whether you're a seasoned skier or progressing past the beginner stage, McCauley has 21 slopes and trails that stretch up to a mile long, with lifts and rope tows to get you to the top. Now with a triple seater chairlift! McCauley has miles of cross-country ski trails for those that enjoy serene winter landscapes, challenging terrain, and a peaceful escape into nature’s snowy beauty.
Enjoy breathtaking views from the summit, where the scenic vistas stretch as far as Whiteface and Mt. Marcy. With no long lift lines and affordable prices, it’s “big mountain” skiing on a more intimate scale. McCauley’s rich history includes producing three Olympic skiers: John "Louie" Ehrensbeck, Hank Kashiwa, and Maddie Phaneuf.
Boasting an annual snowfall of 281 inches (with some seasons hitting 400 inches), McCauley combines natural snow, top-notch snowmaking, and expert grooming to ensure prime conditions for over 100 days of skiing each year.
When the snow melts, McCauley still offers fun—take the Scenic Chairlift Ride in the summer for hiking, biking, picnicking, and family-friendly playgrounds. Come play in our snow, or enjoy the mountain in every season!
